My Personal Disney Vacation Club Review
The Disney Vacation Club is awesome for families that need to take a vacation every year. With a rich assortment of available locations, this thing is just what the doctor ordered!
I'm not getting tricked into DVC!
Now I must admit, I was not always a Disney Vacation Club supporter. Truth be told, I was the person remarking under my breath when it seemed like there was a "DVC" table on every corner. I can recollect
revealing to my wife I would never join DVC just because they're trying so much. To be fair, though, no one ever approached me. These folks were only there in the event we desired some information. You don't get too far at the booth anyway, rather you book an appointment with a DVC representative. This is where it gets rewarding. If you should agree to go meet with somebody they will schedule to have your entire family picked up (if you so choose). Furthermore, the six members in my family were all given $15 Disney dollars which can be used like hard cash. Yes, they in essence handed me $90 in cash to just go sit down with an individual. We actually used two of the cards for beer in Downtown Disney. I know, I know, we're horrible. Tell me about it.
The Get Together
We get there by shuttle service which picked us up right in front of Bay Lake Tower, which is where we were residing that exact week. Once we entered the building we were impressively greeted with any drinks of our choice, in addition to a beautiful showing of cookies. I guess it doesn't take much to astonish me - lol. Well, in the office we go. This is where I was anticipating the high-pressure sales pitch. After all, they compensated me, picked me up, and fed me. Naturally I'm about to recompense for that with a 3 hour aggressive sales pitch! Nope. Not a bit. It was the exact opposite. No hassle at all. We essentially had a routine conversation. Our adviser was more interested in building a back and forth dialogue where he could establish what we were in search of. What we were hoping for was a yearly retreat in a magnificent hotel. We were searching for a site that is attractive to kids, as well as adults. We were looking for
budget friendly expenses. It just so happened that our wants were precisely what the Disney Vacation Club had to present.
The Price
Well, it isn't inexpensive. Even so, if you intend to vacation every single year then it works. The whole system is based on points. Each point has a value. To vacation throughout the busiest times it will cost you extra points. Points go into your "bank" at the very same time each year. The price per point raises every year (so join now!). You will want to discern is the amount of "points" you are going to require each year. A family group of 4 is in a much better position than a family group of 6. A family unit of 4 can schedule a studio which sleeps 4 comfortably. A family unit of 6 will need at the very least a 1 bedroom. Surely the bigger the room, the more points you are going to need. You can to "bank" points. This means skip a year, increase the points in your bank. You can also "borrow" points. If you prefer to consider a monstrous 600 point Hawaii trip, and you only procure 300 points a year, you are able to borrow 300 points from the following year and make it work. It's a wonderful system. You can look to Disney's website for the most recent point chart.
Now that we're members
No regrets! We'd absolutely do it all over for a second time. We deed with Bay Lake Tower. This means we now have the ability to book our trip at this site 11 months ahead of time. This makes certain we get to "come home" every time we desire to. Equally, if we want to schedule anywhere else, say the Disney Boardwalk, we'd not be able to schedule there until seven months in advance. This helps ensure that families who deed at the Disney Boardwalk can "go home" if they wish to. It's a good system.
What you HAVE TO know
- Most specifically, the price per point grows each year. The sooner you join, the cheaper the deal is going to cost. The point totals to reside at each and every vacation resort do not alter. But again, the price per point really does change.
- Deed at a location you love. Should you deed there, you are able to schedule 11 months out. This all but ensures you a room at anytime you choose.
- For those who can help it, don't go during peak times. I love Disney World above anyone, but when the lines are long and the parks are incredibly crowded, it's only going to lower your experience.
- There are once-a-year maintenance fees connected with the club. These are considered costs which are owed in addition with ones own monthly payments. You are able to incorporate these costs to your monthly payment, or you can pay for them in a single one time payment every single year.
