How to Get Six Pack Abs - 5 Simple Steps
By Vincent Reynolds

So you want to be the staring object for the next summer? There is not secret that having rock hard six pack abs is the most sexy thing a person can have. Most people dream about having it, but yet very few are capable of getting them. On the internet there are a lot of people trying to sell the pipe dream that you can have six pack abs in only a few days, but that is a load of bull. If it were that easy, then why aren't everyone equipped with those abs? I will take hard work and dedication to get them, but I can tell you it's well worth it. So here Ill share with you the 5 simple steps on how to get six pack abs.

1. Working The Abdominal Area
The first thing you need to do is to start working on getting some serious muscles in the area where your six pack are located. This is easier said than done, but I recommend just adding 3 exercises to your regular training regimen or 3 days a week. Do sit ups, crunches and side crunches. Do about 15-20 of each. This should be more than enough for most, but if not add a few sets to each if you feel you are not getting enough work in on your six pack abs.

2. Start Running
Now that you are starting to get the muscles growing, you also need to make sure they are showing. You can do this by two ways. One is to increase your activity level and do a lot of stuff during the day. Start running or take up basketball or some other activity that you like. Just something that will make your body burn of that extra fat that are laying on top of your six pack abs.

3. Lower Your Calorie Intake
The other method of getting lower fat percentage is to lower your intake of calories. This will make your body run on reserve power and thus it will use the fat for that purpose. Remember that it also uses muscles, so be sure to workout as well to counter this effect. So go over your daily diet, and start cutting the unhealthy food until you are making progress in dropping fat.

4. Drink Lots Of Water
Shouldn't this go under the diet part? I felt this needed its own point as its almost just as important. Water rids the body of toxins and smoothens the whole system. This will make it healthier and keep everything working. Water also is good to drink when you are feeling hungry as it dampens that feeling.

5. Get Enough Rest
If you are supposed to get those six pack abs to grow, your body need enough rest as well. Be sure to get at least 8 hours sleep each night and don't overdo your workouts. The rest is just as much a part of the building of the muscle as the workout is.

That seems to be it. There is no fancy program that is needed or intricate diet plans. Just some basic common sense and these 5 principles in the back of your head. This is what has worked for me and it will work for you aswell if you are ready to commit yourself to this training regiment. For more information on how to get six pack abs, I can recommend this article written by Terry Mitchell, How To Get Six Pack Abs which helped me understand more of the concepts regarding this complex business of getting washboard abs. You always hear it from people who have NEVER met him (or evidently never listen to his in-car radio). I guess Jimmie was "vanilla" when he popped (no pun intended) a boner joke on SPEED after winning one of his five titles.
